Synopsis: Olivo Barbieri's film spans the deserts of Arizona and Nevada and soon reaches the fantasy glitter world of Las Vegas. The resulting film confounds – the miniature-sized pedestrians, cars and architecture appear as artificial as toys, while monumental feats of engineering, like the Hoover Dam (pictured above) seem strangely unreal within the natural landscape. Ultimately, the mere presentation of these images leaves one wondering what needs are met with such excess?
