Q: Where did you grow up and where do you live now?
Brandon: I grew up in Seymour, Indiana and moved up to Indianapolis for school in 2004. I live on the southside of Indy now.
Q: What occupies your day? (Where do you work, go to school, etc.)
Brandon: I'm a senior software developer for Formstack. Most of my day is spent doing web development or project management.
Q: What year did you start volunteering with the Indy Film Fest?
Brandon: I started volunteering last year for the Film Fest, and have been volunteering since then.
Q: How did you learn about the Indy Film Fest and what prompted you to get involved?
Brandon: In the past, I've had a couple coworkers who've volunteered and it sounded really interesting.
Q: Do you volunteer anywhere else? This is your chance to give shoutouts.
Brandon: I'm actually a senior volunteer at Gen Con. I've been doing that for about 5 years now.
Q: How does volunteering with Indy Film Fest compare with volunteering for GenCon?
Brandon: While there are certainly differences in size and subject matter between Gen Con and the Indy Film Fest, both have offered me a chance to work with a great set of volunteers who are interested in the same thing I am.
One thing that is different with the Indy Film Fest is the amount of volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. With Gen Con, the only chance to really volunteer is during a one week period during the convention. With the Indy Film Fest, I've had the chance to volunteer all year round with the Roving Cinema, the Spring Series, and the screening committee.
