Heart to Heart is the main feature in this set of documentaries
about remarkable children fighting against the odds. Bailey Hunsberger
is a young girl who was born with a diseased heart. By the age of 12,
her heart is beginning to shut down, and with no known cure for her
ailment, her best option for survival is a treatment that was developed
in Germany, but rarely allowed to be practiced in the United States
by the Federal Drug Administration.
Bailey’s doctors at Riley Children’s Hospital
work to obtain the FDA’s special approval to use the “Berlin
Heart” on Bailey. It’s complicated surgery, and will require
Bailey to live in a hospital room for six months before the outcome
of the procedure can be determined.
Actor Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy) hosts and narrates
this gripping story of hope, life and death – all shot right here
in Indianapolis.
