According to federal statistics, the fastest growing age group in America is 85 and older. With Do Not Go Gently, Melissa Godoy strongly encourages – and celebrates – the power of imagination in preventing some common disabilities that come with aging. Where Do Not Go Gently really shines is in its portraits of three utterly remarkable seniors: Arlonzia Pettway, 82, is one of the prominent members of the world famous Gee’s Bend Quilting Bee; Frederic Franklin is still dancing and choreographing past the age of 90; and Leo Ornstein, who was still writing music at the age of 109 before passing away shortly after filming. Narrated by Walter Cronkite.
